Erika typewriters always had a good reputation for producing excellent typewriters at the higher end of the market.
They had a very long production run and were made from 1971 until Erika ceased production in 1991.
The Erika company was the basis and inspiration for the production of many other machines such as Optima, Prasident, Aztecs, CBM, Robotron etc.
The 105 series machines, which are the next generation of Erika machines, are an undisputed model of a typewriter and are considered the canon of industrial design.
The Erika company is one of the most important companies producing writing machines in history, and machines from the 30/40 series can be found as exhibits in many technical museums around the world.
